4 key factors companies succeeding with AI do differently

A recent study published by Harvard Business Review, “What Companies Succeeding with AI Do Differently”, reveals 4 main reasons that differentiate companies that achieve greater success thanks to Artificial Intelligence.

Through two different surveys (2021 and 2023), conducted by researchers at MIT and McKinsey about how they were using AI, it has been found that the gap between leading companies and the rest has widened; that the payback-period for AI investments is much shorter; and that leading companies are better at identifying and implementing use cases that delivered positive outcomes with lower risk.

To explain these three points, the researchers also identified four key factors that set leading companies apart:

1. Their efforts had executive sponsorship

2. The importance of a network of partnerships in a more mature AI market

3. A smoother cross-departmental collaboration;

4. Greater tendency to record and manage relevant equipment data
