The Problem
The primary challenge was to minimize the cost of three critical raw material components without compromising the high-quality standards required for Life Sciences products. The system had to strictly respect quality parametersāPurity and UV absorbanceāwhile maintaining process stability and ensuring feedstock levels were never surpassed.

Real-Time Cost Adaptation: The system automatically updates raw material costs in real-time, ensuring the used mix is always the most efficient based on market prices.
Quality Estimation Module: OptibatĀ® provides real-time estimation of critical quality parameters, specifically Purity and UV absorbance, to prevent off-spec production.
Constraint Management: The RTO monitors and respects feedstock level deltas and recycled mother liquor flows to ensure process stability.
Autonomous Flow Control: The system provides optimum set-points for three raw material flows, closing the loop with the existing control system.
